Emergency Planning

Planning for emergencies is critical.  This is what will enable our communities to be resilient.

“Resilience is the ability to anticipate risk, limit impact, and bounce back rapidly through survival, adaptability, evolution, and growth in the face of turbulent change.” (Community and Regional Resilience Institute)

An administrator from the US Small Business Administration, Maria Contreras-Sweet, said “It is critical that small businesses have a disaster preparedness plan in place to put them in a better position to deal with challenges that often come with no notice.”

Connecticut has had five major disaster declarations since 2011.  (Disaster Declarations in Connecticut, FEMA)
